A Visit to Year 2 from the East Finchley Fire Brigade
We welcomed firefighters from the Finchley Fire Station into school with their fire engine.
The firefighters talked with the children about smoke alarms and what to do if you hear one, along with what the Fire Service does - it isn’t just fires! They rescue people and animals from all sorts of places as well, including cars, rivers, lifts and high places. After their talk, the children had the opportunity to climb into the rear cab of the fire engine for a photo before descending and having a go with the fire hose. We were very relieved that everyone had a go before they were called away!
