A Visit from Olympic Gymnast Nile Wilson.

We welcomed Nile Wilson into school on Wednesday morning for our assembly time, to talk to the children about his career in gymnastics.
Nile is the Rio 2016 Olympic high bar bronze medallist and, in 2014, Nile became the first British gymnast ever to win five gold medals at the European Junior Gymnastics Championships. Nile talked about the qualities he needed to demonstrate to become a successful gymnast, including resilience, determination and lots of dedication to his practise! He also gave us a demonstration of back flips and he walked all the way across the hall on his hands! Thank you to Ms Khimji, who very bravely lay very still while Nile backflipped over her! Nile is one of the founders of Nile Wilson Gymnastics, who run our gymnastics club, and the children in KS1 were all given leaflets with information about signing up for this after school club.
