Year One Art and Design - Fairy Tale Towns
In Year One we have been exploring the artwork of Mary Blair.
Mary Blair was an American artist, animator and designer.
She worked for The Walt Disney Company.
We looked at her colourful pictures of buildings and towns.
We practised drawing shapes with curved and straight sides.
This helped us to draw different buildings, windows and doors.
Then we used our imaginations to draw fantastic towns.
We learnt about complimentary colours and chose complimentary colours to paint our towns.
Next we used pens to show the details in our buildings.
Finally we blended chalk pastels to create nighttime skies.
Can you name the complimentary colours we have used in our beautiful paintings?
