Work Inspired by the Art of Sir Frank Bowling
Sir Frank Bowling is an artist who paints every single day. Colours and shapes are very important to him. Sir Frank believes that colours can express feelings, moods and memories. He enjoys experimenting with different ways of painting.
We explored painting like Sir Frank Bowling.
First we drew special memories in our sketch books.
We experimented with painting in different ways. We created a wash with paint, we dropped and splashed paint, and we moved paint around a surface.
We explored drawing shapes and arcs with oil pastels onto our paintings.
We cut fragments of our drawings of special memories to collage onto our paintings.
Finally, we found materials from around school and painted on top of the collage materials.
