The Year 2 Classes explored the paintings and self-portraits of different artists and revisited their work each week. They also studied portraits on their visit to Kenwood House,

They practised drawing self-portraits in their sketch books, and explored mixing neutral colours.

They talked about their own portraits, and also the portraits created by their classmates. This is what they said:

"She really thought about how to draw her hair"

"I like my plaits, because they look like my actual plaits"

"I learnt to brush in the same direction"

"He painted carefully"

"I learnt to think before I paint"

"She used more than one colour for the background and the eyes are the perfect size"

"I like how my hair is flowing"
